Chitwan National Park is home to 554 species of birds and 68 species of mammals. This park holds a significant number of Critically Endangered One-horned Rhinoceros and Royal Bengal Tiger. Some of the highlighted birds are Great Hornbill, Red-headed Trogon, Great Slaty Woodpecker, Slender-billed Babbler, White-rumped Vulture, Lesser-necklaced Laughingthrush, Asian Openbill,Grey-headed Fish Eagle, Stork-billed Kingfisher, Spiny Babbler, Grey-crowned Prinia and Lesser Adjutant.
